1956 Elections
 
Elections were held on the 6th December, 1956.  Twenty four (24) candidates; two (2) for each of the twelve (12) constituencies were elected to the House of Assembly as follows:
Barbados Labour Party -15
Democratic Labour Party - 4
Progressive Conservative Party - 3
Peoples Progressive Movement - 0
Independents - 2 
 
1961 Elections
Elections were held on the 4th December, 1961.  Twenty four (24) candidates; two (2) for each of the twelve (12) constituencies were elected to the House of Assembly as follows:
Barbados Labour Party - 4
Barbados National Party - 4
Democratic Labour Party - 15
Independent - 1
 
1966 Elections
Elections were held on the 3rd November, 1966.  Twenty four (24) candidates; two (2) for each of the twelve (12) constituencies were elected to the House of Assembly as follows:
Barbados Labour Party (BLP) - 8
Barbados National Party (BNP) - 2
Democratic Labour Party (DLP) - 14
Peoples Progressive Movement (PPM) - 0

1971 Elections
 
For the 1971 elections, the number of constituencies was increased from 12 to 24  
Elections were held on the 9th September, 1971.  The election of members to serve in the House of Assembly was as follows: -

Democratic Labour Party - 18

1976 Elections
Elections were held on the 2nd September, 1976.  The election of members to serve in the House of Assembly was as follows:

1981 Elections
For the 1981 elections, the number of constituencies was increased from 24 to 27.
Elections were held on the 18th June, 1981.  The election of members to serve in the House of Assembly was as follow:

1986 Elections
Elections were held on the 28th May, 1986.  The election of members to serve in the House of Assembly was as follows:

For the 1991 elections, the number of constituencies increased from 27 to 28.  Elections were held on the 22nd January, 1991.  The election of Members to serve in the House of Assembly was as follows:
